The Chopra Center for Wellbeing Enlists Global Commitment

Carlsbad, CA, January 21, 2008 –– Chopra.com today launched its intention blog forum, making a call to the global online community to post their personal commitments to positive change in the world. The goal of the intention blog is to create a critical mass of individuals focusing their energy on transformation, healing, and growth.

All change and transformation is brought about by our thoughts, intentions and our attention,” said Chopra Center co-founder Deepak Chopra, M.D. By declaring our intentions and sending them out into the world – whether through chopra.coms blog forum or by other means – we set the organizing power of the universe in motion. Publicly declaring ones intentions generates more attention, and therefore more power, for their fulfillment.”

Bloggers from cities and villages around the world – including places as far flung as South Africa, Brazil, Jerusalem, India, Italy, and the United States – are posting their goals, dreams, and commitments on www.chopra.com/intention08list.
The posts include specific intentions such as quitting smoking, writing a book, and improving ones relationship, but all of the commitments come down to this: the desire for happiness, health, love, peace, security, and purpose in life.

For example, Niek Ouagadougou of Burkina Faso, West Africa, writes, I commit to letting go of old and new fears and realizing what I thought was not possible. I experience, generate, and share love in all areas of my life.”

Across the globe in Wichita Falls, Texas, Rita Jean Underwood writes that her intention is to “become more of who I really am. To love and accept myself, warts and all. To reach out to others in love. To give more, share more, and do more. To all who read this, ‘I love you.”
Edward Gilbert of Los Angeles, California said, Reading the intentions of thousands of individuals is mesmerizing and inspiring – all at once.”
