Research published in the January 22, 2010 issue of the Journal of Biological Chemistry (http://www.jbc.org/) describes how vitamin D could help protect against Crohn's disease, an inflammatory bowel disease that is believed to be caused by defective innate immune regulation of intestinal bacteria.
